Okay, we love a good conspiracy as much as anyone. But some of the stuff that’s been coming out about the recent shooting in Las Vegas is… to put it mildly, fucking ridiculous! And, quite frankly, they’re giving conspiracy theories a bad name. Conspiracy Theory as a genre, and conspiracy theorists in particular, have a hard enough time trying to pierce the veil of mainstream insipidness, so we don’t need to aggravate the problem with our own stupidity. In other words, you don’t “Red Pill” the masses with the “Crazy Pill”.
Look, there are legitimate questions that need to be answered regarding this event, as there are with any such tragic events that have significant impact on the country. And, as the actual facts of the event are still being uncovered, more questions will certainly arise. That said, it’s important not to jump the smoking gun (so to speak) before we actually know what those facts are or what actually happened.
Yes, stories often get dumbed-down to their lowest common denominator by the establishment for mass consumption before all the facts are in, and the myth or legend of what happened is then parroted, lemming-like, by that same establishment and their useful idiots. What we don’t need are so-called conspiracy theorists doing the exact same thing, but from the opposite end of the spectrum. In short, we don’t need our own useful idiots promoting ideas that are just as easily debunked as most of the official ones. And I say most, because in this case, the official story will most likely turn out to be true.
Not all conspiracies are equal and, as we like to say here at Magical Mystery Radio, not everything is a goddamned false flag!
So, let’s briefly itemize some of these “theories”, shall we?
The first claim that needs to be shot down is the second shooter theory. This primarily originates from the clowns over at YourNewsWire, a site filled with some real stuff mixed in with a lot of nonsense and outright fabrication. The offending article this time is entitled: Hotel Guest Next to Las Vegas Shooter Saw ‘Multiple Gunmen’, by the infamous Baxter Dimitry. Taking several quotes out of context from the original Courier-Mail piece in Australia, Dimitry then concocts a scenario in which it appears that a second gunman (or more) is already fact. But if you read the original article, you’ll quickly see this is not the case.
Here’s the first pertinent YourNewsWire quote:
An Australian man who was staying in the room next to the shooter in the Mandalay Bay has confirmed he witnessed multiple gunmen involved in the Las Vegas attack.
“There were multiple people dead and multiple shooters. I was just hiding waiting for police to come get us. I got outside safely and was hiding in bushes,” Brian Hodge told Australia’s Courier-Mail.
Mr. Hodge, who was staying in room 32134, next door to Stephen Paddock in room 32135, also provided important information when he revealed that a security guard was killed by police.
“My floor is a crime scene. They killed a security guard on my floor.”
Now, look at the piece Dimitry based this on:
Another Australian man staying at the Mandalay Bay Resort has spoken about his close call with the Las Vegas gunman – claiming he launched his murderous attack from the room next door.
Australian Brian Hodge, who previously worked at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast, claimed he was staying in the room next to the shooter on level 32 at the Las Vegas resort.
He said he managed to escape the initial horrific scenes inside the hotel but found himself forced to hide in a bush for several hours after the event.
“I got outside safely and was hiding in bushes,” Mr Hodge said.
“There were multiple people dead and multiple shooters. I was just hiding waiting for police to come get us.
“We were hiding in the bushes outside waiting for the police.” Mr Hodge said he was staying in room 32134 while the gunman was in room 32135.
“It was a machine gun from the room next to me,” he said.
“My floor is a crime scene. They killed a security guard on my floor.”
Now take a look at the first article where the Courier-Mail quotes Hodge:
Australian Brian Hodge, who was born in Wagga Wagga but now lives in the USA, said he was forced to take cover in the bushes outside the Mandalay Bay hotel when the shooter opened fire.
“I’m OK, hiding in bushes, ran outside the hotel,” he told News Corp Australia from outside the hotel.
Hodge, who is in Las Vegas with his staff, said that he expected to remain in hiding for a while.
“It’s going to be a long time before I get to a safe place, this place is in lockdown,” he said.
I’ve highlighted the important parts to point out that it’s difficult from the two original articles to determine just how much Hodge was actually able to witness DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE RAN OUTSIDE when the shooting started and, “managed to escape the initial horrific scenes inside the hotel”! The part where he says there were “multiple shooters” can, therefore, probably be explained as follows:
- He sincerely thought there were multiple shooters due to all the confusion surrounding the event
- He had the impression there were multiple shooters due to the fact that Paddock was taking turns shooting modified semi-automatic weapons out of two separate windows (in the same large suite), or…
- He misspoke while being interviewed just after all the excitement. In other words, he could have sincerely believed this, or he could have meant something else entirely and the quote, put into the context of the original article, could mean anything.
Regardless of the reasons, the original article clearly states Hodge ran outside when Paddock opened fire. Hopefully, they’ll be some follow-up for clarification on what exactly Hodge meant by ‘multiple shooters’. My guess is he was interviewed while still processing the event and, due to the shock, simply said something he didn’t mean or wasn’t entirely sure of.
Now, let’s talk about the Security Guard. Again, let’s start with the YourNewsWire *cough* article *cough*:
Who was the “security guard” who was killed by police?
Wendy Miller from Cooroy, on the Sunshine Coast – another Australian caught up in the Las Vegas shooting – may have provided a missing piece of the puzzle. Also speaking to the Courier-Mail, Ms Miller said she was at a bar in the nearby Luxor Hotel with her husband when she saw what she described as a “man of interest” run by.
Ms Miller said the man sprinted through her hotel after coming off an escalator from the Mandalay Bay.“The man that they [security] were chasing was wearing a security jacket like them,” she said.
Mr Hodge’s eyewitness report of multiple gunmen and a dead security guard, and with Ms Miller’s report of a security guard being chased by authorities, suggest that the mainstream media narrative of the “lone wolf” gunman is not the truth.
The fact is that this was an orchestrated, co-ordinated attack by multiple conspirators, and the mainstream media are attempting to cover it up.
Now, let’s look at the original:
Wendy Miller from Cooroy, on the Sunshine Coast, was also caught up in the attack.
She was at a bar in the nearby Luxor Hotel with her husband when she saw what she described as a “man of interest” run by.
“We managed to make our way back to our room…” she told The Courier-Mail.
“We are in lock down.
“Our door is dead locked and a chair against the door.”
Ms Miller said the man sprinted through her hotel after coming off an escalator from the Mandalay Bay.
“The man that they [security] were chasing was wearing a security jacket like them,” she said.
Notice how Dimitry immediately connects the two pieces of information that may, or may not, have anything to do with one another. If, in fact, what Ms. Miller says is true, “that a man sprinted through her hotel (the Luxor) after coming off an escalator from the Mandalay Bay”, then this individual cannot be the same security guard mentioned by Hodge, who was apparently killed on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay! But if you only read the YourNewsWire piece, you’d think they were like… you know… connected.
Plus, who’s “they” who killed the security guard on the 32nd floor? Was it the police? Did Paddock shoot him? None of this is clear in any way from the original telling. At this point, it’s all speculation.
UPDATE 10/4/17: There was a Security Guard who confronted Paddock, but he was wounded, not killed. So, Hodge clearly didn’t have complete information.
Yet, another UPDATE 10/9/17: Looks like the story is changing, Las Vegas gunman shot security guard before opening fire.
Alright, let’s talk about that video of the supposed second shooter on the 4th floor. Here’s a link to the main video making the rounds, which is from The People’s Voice TV, which is run by… you guessed it, YourNewsWire, which is owned by The People’s Voice, Inc. My what a tangled web we weave:
UPDATE 10/7/17: Looks like Facebook (or the People’s Voice TV) pulled the first vid, and YouTube tweaked their algorithms to take down any Las Vegas shooting conspiracy vids, so the second one isn’t available either. We’ll try to find alternatives. In short, they showed the ‘flashing strobe light’ on the 4th floor, which we’ve determined to be as follows:
Now, watch this news report several hours after the event:
Umm, it’s blatantly obvious that the flashing light from the 4th floor is some kind of strobe or alarm flashing. Also, If there WAS a shooter on the 4th floor, the windows would be blown out! They’re not. Therefore, this particular line of inquiry is a dead end.
It’s obvious that what Dimitry and his Rense-like cohorts are doing is simply taking things out of context and adding their own misguided conspiratorial spin. They’re mixing the real with the fake. This is classic Disinformation, folks. Now, whether they’re doing this on purpose, or they’re just stupid, remains to be seen. My guess is the former, with a healthy dash of the latter.
Okay, next on the menu is the Paddock was somehow connected to ISIS and/or Antifa theory. Really though, is there a difference? I kid, I kid. 😉 Well, sort of.
The ISIS thing… I think we can chalk that up to ISIS wanting to insert themselves into the narrative. Quite frankly, I’d be surprised if Paddock at the ripe old age of 64, suddenly turned into a devoted convert to Islamic Extremism. But, who knows? Stranger things have happened I guess. The reality is ISIS is (see how I did that) losing the war against the Great Satan, and they’re probably feeling left out as of late. But, who knows. This particular line of inquiry might still be open to question, but we need to be cautious.
And now for the Antifa angle. This is all courtesy of… you guessed it… Alex Jones. Jones claimed to have “sources” from the FBI, CIA, and various other alphabet agencies tell him so:
Well, I have no doubt Jones has these inside sources, however, the question that needs to be asked is:
Are they feeding him real info or disnfo?
Again, this line of inquiry might have legs, but the fact that Jones was pushing this narrative so early in the game, gives me pause. So, on this one, I’m taking a wait and see approach. Jones is sometimes right about these things, so we can’t completely dismiss him. At the same time, we should also remember that the late great Mike Ruppert suspected Jones of possibly being an agent provocateur.
Time will tell who was right.
And finally, the last of these theories deals with the claim that the media was in Las Vegas before the shooting, therefore, they must have known about it (or been tipped off) ahead of time. Well, I hate to direct you to CNN of all places, but in this case, the explanation is rather obvious: O.J. had just left the building.
Admittedly, these are just some of the theories floating around the Inter-tubes regarding the Las Vegas incident. But these are the big ones. I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface on what’s out there, and all the blatant hoaxes and misinformation. Oh, and don’t even get me started on 4Chan’s behavior in the immediate aftermath.
BTW, speaking of 4Chan, there was one interesting bit of info that hasn’t gotten much play in the alternative media, and that is, that someone going by the name John (it wasn’t me I swear, officer!) posted a warning about a “high incident project” being prepped for Las Vegas back on September 10th. Could this be the same John Doe/Anonymous FBI informant who’s been posting on 4Chan pol periodically? When he made the warning, he did specify the next day, and also cautioned that the time table was not a guarantee, but he did say Vegas was, “on their minds”. The fact that he also said whatever they were planning for would be used to increase security and the use of metal detectors, should get our spidey-senses tingling. The fact that this is, indeed, the case, makes one wonder if John knew something. Coincidence or not, it does merit further investigation.
Look, conspiracy theorizing is not for the amateur or the immature. It requires serious critical thinking skills and strict objectivity, so as to avoid the pitfalls of confirmation bias. Question everything before coming to any conclusions. In short, keep an open mind, but don’t let your brain fall out! Sadly, much of the stuff that passes for conspiracy theory these days is sorely lacking in any of these qualities. And it discredits the few legitimate researchers uncovering real cover-ups and crimes.
Failure to do this makes you no better than the conspirators you’re trying to expose. In fact, you’re actively helping them do their job. Fake News is a two-way street. Try not to get caught in the traffic.
Oh, one more thing. And this probably the most important thing of all… STOP giving fucking Snopes more material to work with!
