Thanks for participating in the forum!
I think Adam was the one claiming (or implying) that, “falling in love with a robot is a mental illness.” That’s right, I’m throwing Adam under the bus on this one. But, to be fair, I was the one who interjected that there were probably some mental health issues associated with “transgenderism” and, that “transhumanism” could also be a manifestation of the same (or similar) psychological problems. Now, admittedly, that’s not a politically correct point of view, and many people get upset when this association is brought up during discussions of LGBTQ and/or transhumanist issues.
It’s complicated. And, as we’ve stated in the podcast, we’re not medical professionals, these are just our opinions. That said, I do think the topic deserves a more thorough examination… no pun intended. 😉
So, we WILL do another podcast on these topics in the near future and dive headfirst into the maelstrom of all things trans and, yes, Robosexuals will be included. But not the batteries. Those are sold separately. Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.
Seriously, it’s an important topic, and one that deserves a deeper conversation. In the meantime, enjoy one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes “The Lonely” that addresses the idea of “Robot Love” in it’s usual unique way:
