I gotta’ admit, I’m still trippin’ about all this.  I mean, what are the odds?  Especially after having just discussed our experiences with synchronicity.

BTW Brad, I don’t know what being a teenager was like in Red Oak during the late-nineties/early aughts, but during the 80’s it was epic (for a small Texas town anyway).  It was all football, field parties, and fights, and usually in that order.  I tell people the movie Dazed and Confused by Richard Linklater captured it perfectly.  If you haven’t seen it, check it out.  It takes place in the mid-seventies, but it was essentially the same in the eighties, except we had MTV.

We also used to race muscle cars (mostly Mustangs, Camaros, and Trans Ams) down Ovilla Rd. and all the back roads, then go “cruising” up and down Hampton Rd. in Desoto.  Listening to classic rock and metal (Iron Maiden!!)… ahh those were the days.

I often tell young people today that I’m sorry they didn’t get to grow up in a pre- 9/11 world, as it seemed more innocent back then… now I’m gettin’ all nostalgic.  Damn you, Brad! 😉
